Idioms #007 - 積沙成塔

積沙成塔 jīshāchéngtǎ - all great things have humble beginnings

- accumulate
shā - sand
chéng - become
- tower

To celebrate the fact that my Anki deck has now passed 2000 words, here's a nice 成語, "a great tower begins with the first grain of sand". As I wrote in an earlier post, I'm currently adding new words at a rate of 64 a day, or 1921 a month. This means that I will most likely have a deck of over 10 000 words by the year's end. A nice tower, indeed.

  1. A lot of useful vocab here. And the not so useful ones are interesting anyways, so keep it coming, man.
